Recent Work
Although it is cold and we are still getting snow, I have hope that Spring is almost here! I am currently working on an Illustration for a play called Monsterface, by New York playwright Daniel Roberts. I am also making work for my upcoming June show at LMC and preparing for an October solo show at Chadron State University in Chadron, Nebraska.

Spring=Busy
Spring seems to be coming quite quickly. I just took up cross country skate skiing this year and I am not ready for the snow to melt yet!
Here are some exciting things that are happening in and out of the studio:
I am preparing for a June show at Lyndsay McCandless Contemporary in Jackson, WY.
I have work in three different charity/fundraiser events around the state this spring: Postcards from the Wild West at the Nicolaysen Museum of Art, Casper, WY......Empty Bowls Project (to help fight hunger) in Cheyenne, WY....and the Who Dunnit Show? at the Jackson Hole Art Center.
I also have two University show possibilities coming up soon and have applied for a handful of fellowships/awards/grants/juried type opportunities.
At any given time I am working on 8-15 paintings at a time. Right now I have 13 in various stages of completion.

Some New Work
Recently I have been making some smaller collage and mixed media works. They are a nice compliment to my paintings and have really allowed me some freedom to explore ideas.
The imagery in the collages came from a few old books I picked up at a local used bookstore.
One of the books was written in the 1940s and titled "Wonder Book of the Worlds Progress."
It covers everything from cavemen to Aviation. The pages are worn and the quality of the printing is not that great. It has all of these fantastic images of Polar explorers that I have become fascinated with. These images fit so well with the guiding themes in my work of
isolation and transformation.
